Emptying ourselves...

The humility of Jesus can be seen in the crib ...

and now in His permanent state
of humility in the tabernacle,
where He has reduced Himself
to such a small particle of bread that the
priest can hold Him with two fingers.

The more we empty ourselves,
the more room we give God to fill us.”
St Teresa of Calcutta

“Spread love everywhere you go.
Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.
Be the living expression of God's kindness:
kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes,
kindness in your smile.” – St Teresa of Calcutta

Today begins Winter Ember days.

"Ember days are three days (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday)
set apart in each of the four seasons for fasting, abstinence
and prayer.  Tied to the seasonal cycles of farming and
harvesting, the purpose of Ember Days is to render thanks
to God for the gifts of Creation and to ask His help
in using them well.  Since 1966, the fasting and abstinence
are no longer prescribed but still encouraged."
"Ember Days of Lent" (Fr Arnaud Devillers)

Ember days are a beautiful and ancient tradition of our Faith.
Although not required, consider learning more about them
and observing these last Ember days of the year.
