Rightly devoted... (EASTER SATURDAY)

"You've got to pray to Our Lady.
When you lose devotion to Our Lady
you're out there with the wolves." - Mother Angelica

"Do you, then, be also careful always to join
to your daily visit to the most Blessed Sacrament
visit to the most holy Virgin Mary in some church,
or at least before a devout image in your own house.

If you do this with tender affection and confidence,
you may hope to receive great things from this most gracious Lady,
who, as St Andrew of Crete says, always bestows great gifts
on those who offer her even the least act of homage."

St Alphonsus Ligouri

From the altar of our hearts... a reminder ... (Easter Saturday)

"Him whom the heavens cannot contain, the womb of one woman bore.
She ruled our Ruler.  She carried Him in whom we all are.
She gave milk to our Bread." - St Augustine, Sermon 184

"When we go before Jesus on the altar,
we always find Him with Mary His Mother,
as the magi did at Bethlehem (Mt 2:11).

And Jesus in the sacred Host,
from the altar of our hearts,
can repeat to each one of us what He said to
St John the Evangelist from the altar of Calvary,
Behold thy Mother (Jn 19:27).
