"Christ used the flesh and blood of Mary for His life on earth,
the Word of love was uttered in her heartbeat.
Christ used His own body to utter His love on earth;
His perfectly real body, with bone and sinew and blood and tears;
Christ uses our bodies to express His love on earth, our humanity.
A Christian life is a sacramental life;
it is not a life lived only in the mind, only by the soul…
Our humanity is the substance
of the sacramental life of Christ in us,
like the wheat for the host, like the grape for the chalice.”

I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED THE WRITINGS OF CARYL HOUSELANDER, THEY ARE ALWAYS GOOD FOR MEDITATION AND REFLECTION. THE POSTINGS OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS HAVE BEEN LIKE HAVING A RICH DESERT. I HAVE HAD TO READ AND REREAD THEM AGAIN SO THAT THEY COULD BE ABSORBED IN MY LITTLE BRAIN. THANK YOU AS ALWAYS FOR YOUR TIME AND DEDICATION TO YOUR BLOG, I LOOK FORWARD TO STOPPING BY EACH DAY AND FINDING THESE SPRITUAL GEMS. JOHN K.
ReplyDeleteJohn - Unearthing these gems is reward in itself - the fact that I have a venue to share them is double sweet - and getting comments is triple! The goal for this apostolate? that all will grow to know, love and serve our Eucharistic Lord more and more.
