Ask great graces...

“Therefore enlarge your heart, and
do not ask things of small importance, but
ask great graces.... " - St Leonard of Port Maurice

"I often speak with my Teacher,
Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament,
because I can learn from Him.
Jesus is the Teacher
of the science of holiness.

I go to Him because
I would like to learn from Him
how to become a saint.

Of what use to me
is all knowledge and education,
if I do not become holy!?"

St. Francis de Sales

Graces abound...

"He who loves the Mass is already in paradise."  - St Philip Neri

"Time is full of eternity.
As we use it,
so shall we be.

Every day
has its opportunities,
every hour
its offer of grace."

Cardinal Henry Manning
 (1883)

Graces flying forth....

"He remains still in the tabernacle, it is true,
but graces are flying forth from His Heart
in inconceivable abundance." - Fr Francis Aloysius Spencer

"Before the tabernacle
great saints have communed with God upon the heights
which we may never reach; there, too, sinners have come,
and touched by the grace that goes out from Him,
found the contrite and humbled heart which He will never despise.

Think of the millions of the faithful
who day by day come into the house of God to pray.

Think of the religious to whom this very presence
is as the air they breathe,
the very life and sustenance of their souls.

No one shall ever know all that this adorable sacrament
is for human souls, raising all our hearts to that one Heart
which is the center and source of grace and love."

Jesus is passing by...

"Dry bones and limp lives can come alive
by giving God permission to make us
what He wants us to be." - Fr. George Rutler

swiatla02.jpg (500×375)

"We entreat you not to offer God's grace
an ineffectual welcome (II Cor 6:1).
Yes, God's grace can fill us this Lent,
provided we do not close the doors of our heart.
We must be well-disposed, we must really want to change;
we cannot play with God's grace. ...

We cannot regard this Lent
as just another liturgical season
which has simply happened to come around again.
It is a unique time: a divine aid which we should accept.

Jesus is passing by and He hopes that we will
take a great step forward — today, now."

Most necessary mission...

"Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament has His hands
full of graces, and He is ready to bestow them
on anyone who asks for them." - St Peter of Alcantara
 Artist: Judith Costello
Eucharistic Adoration is the most necessary mission
to the Church, which has even more need of prayerful souls
than of powerful preachers or men of eloquence.
Today more than ever have we need of people who,
by their self immolation, disarm the anger of God inflamed
by the ever increasing crimes of nations.
We must have souls who by their importunity re-open the
treasures of grace which the indifference of the multitude has closed.
We must have true adorers; that is to say, people of fervor and sacrifice.
When there are many around the divine Savior, God will be glorified,
Jesus loved; society will become Christian, won to Jesus Christ
by the apostolate of Eucharistic prayer."
St Peter Julian Eymard
