Change of heart

Yet I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me.  You are my help
and my deliverer; O my God, do not delay. - Psalm 40:17

"Pray that just as Jesus changes the lower earthly nature
of bread and wine into His body and blood
He might change and transform also
the sluggish, coldness and dryness
of our earthly and arid heart ...

into the fire, tenderness and agility
of the holy divine affections and dispositions
of His divine and heavenly Heart."

Our wish, our object, our chief preoccupation must be to form Jesus in ourselves, to make His spirit, His devotion, His affections, His desires and His disposition live and reign there. All our religious exercises should be directed to this end. It is the work which God has given us to do unceasingly.”
